NASA SBIR ignite Phase II: prepared for Lift-off!
We are honored to have been selected by NASA to receive a Phase II award to the inaugural SBIR Ignite program! Sonic Lift-off continues to attract interest from multiple sub-segments within the semiconductor industry, driven by its potential substantially lower costs of next-generation semiconductor substrates and devices. Awards for Phase II are up to $850k and expected to kick-off later this summer.
From the NASA news release: “We are proud that all 12 of the small businesses are continuing with our program and persevering through the tough realities of early-stage research and development,” said Jason L. Kessler, program executive for the NASA SBIR/STTR program at the agency’s headquarters in Washington. “These awards foster a unique range of technologies that we hope will have positive impacts on the lives of everyday Americans in the future.”
After a successful completion of our feasibility work in Phase I, the team at Crystal Sonic is poised for ‘lift-off’ on this more substantial Phase II effort that will support and accelerate our path towards commercialization of a sonic lift-off tool for semiconductor manufacturing.
