Crystal Sonic awarded NASA contract

We are proud to announce our recent award and participation in the inaugural NASA SBIR Ignite program!

Our Phase I award, entitled “Reducing Cost of Space Photovoltaics via Sound-Assisted Substrate Reuse” builds upon our efforts to lift off thin layers of GaAs substrates, intended for use in the production of space photovoltaics. The Ignite program is a new initiative by NASA kicked off in 2022, and is intended to foster U.S. early-stage, high risk technology developments with a special emphasis on commercialization.

Crystal Sonic was among 300+ applicants to the solicitation, and we are honored to be one of only 12 awardees to carry forward our developments and support NASA’s vision to shape the aerospace ecosystem and beyond with our technology.
